“Put your ear down close to your soul and listen hard.”

Let your "Yes" be Yes and your "No" be No.
                                                Mathew 5:37

Everyone brought up in their own way will have different values accordingly, it is because of these differences that I now sit here blogging.

It boggles me how 2 people can be the bestest of friend yet share a whole different point of values in life. Like whether one should get married before making love or even the simplest thing like whether stealing is an action agreeable or not. And then there is the other question of how could one spend their life with another person if they both hold different values. How would these two people come to a compromise their whole life when things come between them?

I view friendship as the easier relationship to find a compromising ground, but with a lover/spouse I find it quite hard to give in, only because building a life together is not the same as being the bestest of friends. The amount of responsibilities one holds by sharing a life with another is no longer the same as being just a friend.

Then the question of how about when a child comes into the world, what values should he/she be brought up with, if the parents are unable to hold a common ground?

All these thoughts makes me slightly uneasy knowing that one day I might have to compromise on my believes, willingly or unwillingly, consciously or unconsciously.

what we learn with pleasure we never forget

It is finally official, I'm graduating!!!

I still remember the first few days of my university life so vividly. After 3 years, today, I sit here and letting everyone know that it is official I'm moving on the the next chapter of my life.

I glad to say that I finished my studies with the best results I've gotten throughout my 6 semesters in Monash. To some it may not be that good of a result but to me it is good enough and I am ever so thankful to my Father up there. I've never been one who scored all HDs or As whether in high school or uni and even though I came to accept that a long time ago, I still really strive to.

This is the end of my uni life but definitely not the end of learning for me. Studying may seem to be a pain (sometimes even literally) at times but looking back I'll have it no other way. Studying may not be at the top of the to do list currently but I'm sure some time in the near future it will resume it's prior position in my life.

For now, goodbye  assignments, referencing, early morning classes, car park problems and tutorials!

Till then, I'll enjoy the life of an unemployed and worry about all sorts of future related stuff.
BUT, of course, before that, I'm going on a well deserved holiday to Sydney, Australia!

Little updates on me

I've just finished my finals in my final semester in Monash University. In other words, I'm currently unemployed. Being unemployed is actually more stressful than it sounds. I begin to start thinking what I should do with my life, what my life goals should be and where do I want to see my self in say 5-10 years. I know many would say I do not need to have everything figured out right now and all but I just would like to have a faintest idea of what might life should look like in the coming years. I've always been a strong believer of no need to plan so much but in this case it is always good to have a plan even if it doesn't follow through.

In about less than 2 week I'll be going on one of the longest vacation of my life thus far. 11days! HAHA I know it sounded much longer than it really is. Really am looking forward to it, just a break from worrying and pondering upon my future would be really nice at this time. Probably after that I've got to start putting actions into my words.

Haven't been doing anything productive since my last paper which was last last Monday. Tried to do my usual workout routine but ended up aching for about 5 days which prohibited me from continuing on with it. I've been spending most of my time sleeping, in the mall and spending time with the best friend. Weekdays seems to be a lot quieter than I remember them to be and weekends are just what I look forward too nowadays.

This is the life of an unemployed.

Garden by the Bay

This trip down south was during the end of last year. As usual my partner in crime, Jessica and I made our way down to Singapore for our annual Singapore getaway. Looking back the past years, we make a trip to Singapore at least 2 times each year and each trip seems to just be more and more fun.

This time round we managed to visit the new tourist attraction in Singapore called Garden by the Bay which is located just across Marina Bay Sands. My advice to anyone visiting the place is take the tram ride. It was the most worth it 5SGD (if im not mistaken) in my life. HAHA. It will save you a lot of walking and definitely from sun burn.

There are 2 observatories there, the Flower Dome and the Cloud Forest. We were extremely blessed by Jessica's uncle which sponsored our entrance fees into one of them and we chose the Cloud Forest. I think they mentioned something like it is the largest man made waterfall in Asia? I'm not too sure on that, so it would be good it you did't hold me to it.

Walking in there was really cooling and nice but it was also the first time in my life I've ever felt afraid of heights. Didn't even know I was so afraid of hneights. I remember the moment I stepped out onto the external bridge, my knees froze, I was having cold sweat, my heart was definitely beating faster than usual and also I felt a little faint. Thankfully the best friend was there to hold my hand! Like literally.

It seems that our trips each time gets more and more interesting compared to the last one and we discover more and more about each other during that time too. I'm not too sure about whether our annual Singapore trips will continue to go on now that we both have finished our studies and have different commitments but I'm sure when we do, we will have a great time!

Descending Dragon Bay

Vietnam trip back in July 2012.

I remembered the time when I sat foot onto the Oriental Sail to set out to one of UNESCO's World Heritage Sites, Ha Long Bay, I was filled with excitement to see nature in all it's glory and it really did not disappoint. The sight of it all was just BEAUTIFUL. The skies were the bluest I've seen and although the sea was not clear, it was just beautiful.

The Oriental Sail was one of the many junks you'll find cruising it's way through Ha Long Bay. I managed to book an overnight cruise which came with all meals on board and was filled with activities. One of the most memorable activity we had was kayaking. They made us kayak through this tiny cave which only was high enough for kayaks to past through to arrive at this place which was so beautiful words can't describe. It was a pity we didn't have any cameras on us. Also because my partner and I were so horrible at kayaking we were the last to reach there and did not have much time to soak it all up, all that is left now is just a mental image. We had only a few minutes to spare and had to make our way back, worried that we would have lost our way as it was such a long distance.

While kayaking I remembered being really mad at my partner because I was so tired and I really hate it when people boss me around but at that time I also knew that my partner was as tired as I was. Not once did my partner yell at me for doing such a bad job instead my partner tried to do most of the work to get us safely back to the junk. I'm just really thankful for all that my partner has done for me during that time, it would be quite ugly if we started an argument on board a kayak. Imagine, with no where to go and screaming at each other, that would have been a funny sight.

I was glad we managed to reach back safely and although last in the team, it made a really good memory.

Fraser's Hill

Almost a year ago, the 5 of us found ourselves making our way up to Fraser's Hill for a weekend getaway in conjunction with the best friend's birthday. As we have all never been fans of planning, we spent all our time there chatting our lives away, sleeping, lazing and just sitting around a hot pot of homemade steamboat. We really couldn't have had a better time and the mildly cold weather just made everything much better.

A little advise for those intending to visit Fraser's Hill, remember to bring tons of great company. The place doesn't have much to offer but I'm sure good company will make up for it just like it did for me!

The older we get, the more fragile we understand life to be.

Crimes seems to be drawing closer and closer to home right now. We are so often exposed to tragedies through the newspapers and news channels but have we really ever stop to ponder and realize the severity of it all?

Previous post was some pictures of my recent trip to Bangkok, Thailand. In short the  trip consisted of shopping, shopping, shopping, shopping and shopping continued with shopping, shopping, shopping and shopping again. I'm sure by now you'd have captured the gist of story.

My 3 top places for shopping would be

1. Chatuchak Weekend Market
As some local would say this place is overrated and not worth going but I beg to differ. Chatuchak, although being a very touristy place had tons of bargains everywhere. Plus, it is possible to find anything and everything there, from clothes to pets to food! One would be pretty overwhelmed with the amount of shops there is there. It was a pity as we only had 2 and a half hours to spare at Chatuchak as we were leaving on the day it self. My advise is, anyone going to Bangkok should plan their trip around a weekend. And if after visiting the Chatuchak Weekend Market you find your hands empty, then, you can go on to other places to spend without worrying you might not have enough money to spend in Chatuchak.

2. Pratunam Morning Market
I found out about this place from The F Word by Clicknetwork and had to go. We woke up at 5.30am and made our way there, as crazy as that may sound, the prices there were the best I've gotten throughout my whole trip. We were pretty happy that we stayed just a stone throw away from this place.

3. Union Mall
Likewise, found out about this place through the F word. This mall is where more of the locals shop and I enjoyed shopping in this mall. Firstly because it was a MALL, there was aircond! Secondly, I preferred the styles I saw there rather than in Pratunam. I felt that this mall caters more to college/uni students and young working adults, it was rather trendy, not your ordinary but not over the top. The prices here may be a little higher as compared to Pratunam but I found my favourite buy in this very mall.

As much as I LOVE and ADORE shopping, I realize I'm not that big on shopping insanely like what I did in Bangkok. It is true that the deals there are FANTASTIC and probably the prices there will never in a million years be comparable to that in Malaysia but while travelling there I just felt a little disappointed. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the holiday very much with all the cheap stuff. I mean clothes at the price of no more than RM 15, who wouldn't?

I found that after returning from the trip I had not gained much, it felt like the experience was much less compared to the places I've visited before. It felt more like a task rather than a holiday and the task being getting the most number of clothes, shoes and bags at the best deals. I felt like I had not gained the experience I wanted to, like to visit places, absorb culture and just enjoy my trip. I was exhausted each day but only with new clothes to show for.

Overall, Bangkok would not top my list of places to go if I were to go on another holiday. I believe I would only go back again if it wasn't a holiday and having the aim of shopping only.

It is better to travel hopefully than to arrive

Bangkok the place everyone calls shopping heaven.

I came back exhausted and had tons of clothes to show for but I felt this experience lacked something I. Nonetheless I'm happy to be home, well rested and extremely pleased with my bargains.

Setting goals is the first step in turning the invisible into the visible

It has been almost 6 months since I published something in this space. I'm not too sure anyone still visits but I like the thought of having an outlet for my thoughts somewhere.

Since entering into the year 2013, my mind has just been filled with "What should I make of myself and what should I do with my life?". Having the opportunity to have an internship really gave me the head start to thinking about the future.

I've always been one who would only cross the bridge only when I got there and I don't usually fret and most of all I dislike planning and worrying about things beyond my control. In others words sometimes I just feel it is easier to say that things are just beyond my control rather than to really seat down and think. Since I'll be finishing my final semester in Monash this year I thought it is best I kick this habit of mind and starting planning a future I might want to have.

I know not all plans come to pass, but you know what they say, it is always good to have goals and plans. I guess that the Man up there has a lot to play in whether or not or plans realizes and of course also hard work.

At this current juncture, I've not come up with any goals and plans yet but I do hope I will soon enough.

Unity

The best place/time to see people of all different races and background come together is definitely during a sporting event. I noticed this when I had the chance to work at a Badminton Game a few years back and today has definitely proven me right.

What was super unpleasant was not the fact that Malaysia took home the Silver but the attitudes of some Malaysians. I see so many people on social media expressing their unsatisfactory feelings not just because we didn't manage to bring the Gold home BUT  just because they didn't manage to get their free food that was promised if Datuk Lee brought home the Gold for us. -.-

Seriously?

And there are those even before the match has already declared that Malaysia is a loser. Come on, think about it, despite taken the Silver home, we are definitely NOT losers. We made it to the Olympic finals, does that not account for anything? -.-

It just ticks me off.

Anyways, I personally thought that Datuk Lee gave it his best and made Malaysia really really proud!!! He deserves so much more than he is credited for.

I had a really enjoyable time/night watching it with my loved ones.
A simple dinner and a tight match was stressful yet relaxing at the same time. :D

I'm really glad you came
Thank you
:)

Restricted to 22' X 18'

What is worse than unpacking?
 PACKING!

You know you have a problem when you look into a cupboard full of clothes but still feel you have nothing to wear! In my defense, my cupboard is pretty small compared to what all average girls would have. I've always asked my dad, what was going through his mind when he build such a small cupboard for me?!
Hahaha.

I've always hated packing, even for a night's trip what more a week's trip. Especially being a girl requires so much more extra packing compared to a guy. Extra undergarments, extra facial and hair products, extra these and that. Really makes me wonder how do people go abroad to study for a few years but only limit their packing to a few tens of kilos.

Some of them must really teach me some skills.

I run, I will fly, Chase the wind & Touch the sky.

Today was one of the better Friday nights I had.
It was...... erm how should I describe it?
Light and easy, just like my favourite radio station. :D

From dinner, cutting hair, lip gloss shopping to playing air guitar and singing in the car, these things really made my day so better than it was already.

Excited for what lies in the week to come

In hindsight

The one thing I fail most to commit to is my blog.
I love having this space where I can place my thoughts and then maybe one day look back and see how far I've come in life but most times I just find it difficult having to edit my thoughts for public viewing and I believe that is why my blog is constantly neglected. As history would have recorded, I blog most when I am on a semester break.

I'm currently through two thirds of my holidays, I thought it would be nice to practice writing something other than piles of assignments.

A lot has changed since the last post but I think it's just too much to have to write it all down. So lets just start from today.

While sitting down in Starbucks with my best friend and her boyfriend, watching how happy they were laughing straight at a toy gun, I realize that a lot is going to change from now onwards. I know things have been slowly changing constantly, but to sit down and watch the past playback and to think how the future would play out is all quite a lot to take in. You see,a few of my closest friends are all currently in that phase of transition from study life to working life, few of us in our final year, few not even close to the end of their degrees and there are those whom hasn't even begin to further their studies and it makes me wonder will the gap ever be too big for all of us to communicate?

Having taking our own separate paths since high school ended, we've never had a gap to wide to fill. It always seems like every time we gather, high school was just yesterday despite having not spoken to each other for days, weeks and sometimes even months! And the slightest thought of having being able to loose all that sometimes scare me.

You know how people put so much effort into maintaining a love relationship? I believe that in every relationship whether a love or not, it both requires a lot of effort.

Your song of freedom

Yesterday while I stood in the center of my 8.30am church service, serving and worshiping, I felt free. I tried to dig deep into something but I found none. Nothing so big and wide to weigh me down. I realize that, that one day I finally had the courage to put it all out there was the day I felt free inside.

Be it unto me according to your word.
